A Maiden’s Illusionary Funeral

“Gensokyo, a land sealed in times of conflict, cut off from the ever modernising world. A land where fantasy and reality collide. A land of boundaries. The land of illusions.”

16th April was the day of the MelCosPho 6, an event held every now and then to cater for the desires of Cosplayers and Photographers to have a day out. As the name implies, this was the sixth and the gathering site was the Carlton Gardens/Royal Exhibition Building on the outskirts of the Melbourne CBD. Rinka and I decided to bring our lovely ladies to the gathering to take a few snaps in the autumn weather.

It’s been weeks since the human named Evelyn fell into our world. She does not know of how she came, nor why. Perhaps she is a victim of my master’s doing?

A curious girl, she asked how does a mushroom taste. “Have you not tasted them in your world?” I replied as she leaned on the tree. “No, I haven’t tasted anything ever,” her eyes fixated on the fungus she held in her hand. Never tasted anything? Is she even human?

As we lay on the endless autumn grass, I thought to guide her to the human village. The warmth of the land filled me, I sighed as I slowly drifted into a nap.

“Like master like servant” I heard before I floated to my dreams, how did she know of…
